He drove the two of us south to a small town in his car, then we transferred to an ATV for a bumpy trip about a mile to the beach and turtle nursery. Along with another small group we learned about the three turtle types on this beach. We then transferred our 65 or so newborns to baskets, then after some frigate birds finally left, carried them just above the surf and released them. “We had a wonderful excursion on Monday releasing baby turtles in Juluchuca Playa Icacos! Ulises was very communicative with me before the trip. Mariana was a wonderful host! While we took a shuttle ride there we were offered some drinks and she provided a lot of information of the towns we drove through to get there. It was just my husband and I on this excursion so we were lucky to release MANY baby turtles into the ocean! It was such a cool experience and would do it again!! Thank you!!!!”
